XWA Lord of the Ring Quarterfinal, Group One Match A

Austin Carter (c) vs. Kaelan Laughlin

After a three-year journey full of hardships and setbacks, both professional and personal, Austin Carter, the hometown hero who debuted by winning the first match of Massacre's first relaunch episode, is finally the XWA World Television Champion. Against all odds, the WIndy City Daredevil dethroned Dave O'Connor, the man who had that title, and handed the Maniac his first loss in XWA. But Ozzo won't have long to rest on his laurels, because right before that match, the internationally-renowned Kaelan Laughlin pulled off a similar feat against Jace Albright, who'd gone undefeated for the entire first half of 2019. Now, the Irish Rose looks to repeat O'Connor's feat and win the TV title in her second XWA match.

Can the hometown hero make a successful first defense? Or will Kaelan bring yet another title change? Find out in our main event!

XWA Lord of the Ring Quarterfinal, Group Two Match A

Bloody Mary vs. Mark Storm

For all the suspense, all the rumors, Bloody Mary's surprise opponent ultimately turned out to be more of a surprise punching bag, giving her a much-needed chance to rebound from her debut loss to Ryoko Soda and establish why Mirage's disciple is such a force to be reckoned with. But now, she faces quite possibly the biggest test of her entire career: Your Hero and Mine, Mark Storm. In quite possibly the most anticipated match of the entire first round, Storm took out A.J. Morales, one-half of the XWA World Tag Team Champions, and now he walks into this quarterfinal as by far the bigger star...for now.

Will the Illusionist make the whole world realize, in one fell swoop, how real of a threat she is? Or will this Storm be too much for her to weather?

XWA Lord of the Ring Quarterfinal, Group Two Match B

The Phoenix vs. Minka Carter

Both of the XWA World Tag Team Champions entered this year's Lord of the Ring, but only one of them made it through to the next round. Minka Carter started things off with a kick, spoiling Remi Lockett's big XWA debut, but at the cost of some serious punishment to her ankle and Hustle Inc., Lockett's tag team, setting themselves up as likely future challengers for the Demon Slayers' titles. In the meantime, Minka will have to deal with a mysterious new foe, in the form of the Phoenix. This masked warrior turned heads with his flashy offense and an impressive win over fellow XWA debutante Skye Healy, but this will no doubt be a bigger challenge.

Will the Phoenix rise to the occasion and defeat his internationally-accomplished foe? Or will Minka conquer her demons and make it to the LOTR semifinals for the first time in her career?

Opening Match:
XWA Lord of the Ring Quarterfinal, Group One Match B

The Oakster vs. Dave O'Connor vs. Hanako Takeuchi

In one of the most competitive bouts of the entire first round, the veteran Oakster proved he's still got it by overcoming one of the most dominant forces in all of combat sports, Hanako Takeuchi. But despite the toll that match took on him, he won't be getting a respite--and he can blame Erin Gordon and the Lynx for that, because neither one of them were even in the building. So just like last year, we're giving two combatants who went down swinging last time a second shot at glory. By random draw, not only did XWA owner Bella Quinn give Hanako a shot at redemption, she ended up giving Dave O'Connor--who, despite just losing the XWA World Television title, still holds the Hardcore Championship and still wants a piece of Albion Gale--one of those opportunities. He won't be defending that title tonight, but since this is under triple threat rules, he'll have to fight like he is.

Can the Blood Red Sandman make lightning strike twice? Will the Black Rose earn redemption? Or will the Madman reassert his dominance? No matter what, it's one fall to a finish, with a spot in the semis and Hardcore Championship implications at stake!
